Fly Fly Fly

Finally the time came to say goodbye and wish happy journey. 'S' flight was scheduled two days ahead of mine. While packing his stuff I was thinking, that, I'll get some time to do my personal stuff once he is not around, but, the feeling that crept inside me while saying bye was something that I can never explain.

It was happening for the first time in last one year (I'm counting the courtship period too, there is still some time in celebrating the first anniversary) that we will not get a chance to speak to each other...and this made me worried in the beginning, but later on I kept saying to myself, "we are meeting after two days, so better meet with some positive energy."

He left Friday midnight and I had three days to complete few things before leaving. And despite of pending work, I slept till afternoon on Saturday, thinking that I can complete it all on Sunday and few things after office (Yes, I had office on Monday).

There were no Monday blues in the morning. I reached office a bit earlier than usual to make sure everything goes as planned, and guess what, it did.

The flight was half-an-hour late from its scheduled time. I was excited to board the first international flight of my life. I made sure that I don't miss the landing at Dubai airport. As told by 'S' it's indeed spectacular.

I clicked few pictures of the screen displaying the distance and duration of the journey. And some aerial views at the time of landing at San Francisco airport.

Visa Interview

My heart was pounding at the news of 'S' going to the USA. I met him with a sullen face when he came back from his Visa Interview. On asking, I replied, " I can not live without you for two long months." And to this he said, "okay then come with me." I was staring at him as if he has said something impossible. A day after that we started the Visa formalities and with in two days, we were off to Chennai. The interview was fixed on Sunday and Tuesday (The office was closed on Monday being a national holiday for Ganesh Chaturathi).

This gave us an opporutnity to explore a new place which is close to the city. After completing the formalities and a sumptuous lunch in an Italian restaurant, we headed straight to Mahabalipuram, which is around 60 km south from the city of Chennai. We stayed in a beach side resort, and enjoyed Mangalorian cusines there.

During a late night walk on the wet sand, we were discussing the future plans for the next two months (fingers crossed, as I was still skeptical whether I will get through the process or not). We went around the town after dinner and felt the postivity the festivals bring with them. The town was all decked up with lights and flowers.

A morning walk by the seashore is a perfect start for a perfect day. I always find it very relaxing and soothing. The touch of cold water and silky sand...it's awesome.

After Breakfast we visited Pancha Rathas Temple. The temple is an example of monolithic Indian rock-cut architecture. You can read more about the temple here

After having a day full of fun, we headed back to Chennai on Monday evening. The next morning, we did not talk much and left for the Embassy. The legal formalities are always time-consuming and here the things were not different either. My eyes searched 'S' everywhere and there he was..waiting impatiently for the big news. And the next thing that we both were doing was, calling everyone back home and telling, "Yea, we are all set for our two-months long honeymoon."
